Biz…Fun…What’s the difference says this capitalist hippie

” For 30+ years, I do not and will not separate fun from business and it is deductible. It is a continuation from all of my favorite childhood adventures. Travel is at the top of the list. Hotels, Restaurants, Airport bars, People watching to the Xtreme. Coming home with an order, a resolution, and maybe even a check is like Christmas, Birthday, and the Tooth Fairy all rolled into one. This compartmentalizing that someone started is a real buzz kill and I will not participate. Boat drink please while I do some biz on my Google Pad in my boxers. ”

play to live and live to play

We live on a big beach ball of a planet. Our bodies are mostly saltwater. We like to ride in choo choo trains, fly in big silver planes powered by old dinosaur juice, cruise around on boats as big as cities eating like Santa in his offseason or roll down the highway in our Barbie Cars with our toys packed away. I work at play and play at work. I like to hit balls with sticks, travel by waves on boards, and have ol sol kiss my skin. I like Bowties and Flip Flops and making a deal or having a cuppa joe with my feet propped up on a hotel balcony railing dreaming of my next trip while on this trip. Conde Nasting I call it.

The Walking Man…talks…listens…creates

RocketfishMy new Rocketfish stero headset with built-in mic works so great with my iPhone and I am so pleased with the cushion feel. Earbuds bug me for some reason. Anyway for 40 bucks compared to others at $150…if the sound quality is better then my old loud concert venues, airports, and manufacturing plants have blown away my discernment. I am a portable office as I stroll through BNA and other airports. Freedom to move. Packing lightly. Using technology to grow your possibilities.

Left Handed in a Right Handed World is just Peachy

The LH Diaries- Summer 1965- No left handed catcher’s mitt so I used right handed mitt with a leather work glove since pocket was kitty wampus. Fast pitch still stung.*-Right handed scissors and the Ol’ Man’s golf stix force me to learn to cut and swing like a rightie. Fall-My Teach. Mrs McGee gives me a D for slanting backwards which was not allowed. Never did it again. Shaking hands is usually done with the right hand and since a limp fish was frowned upon by Paw-Paw I learned to strengthen my right paw to give a manly shake. Being a 10%-er requires one to deal with it. I loved that famous lefty Whitey Ford. As Mickey said of him, “Cool. Craft. Nerves of steel.” And then there’s Sandy Koufax.

La Cage Aux Folles? OR vive la difference

BIRDShttp://www.petermanseye.com/community/contrarians/13751-peterman-s-choice-br-birds-of-a-feather

Don’t bogart that dopamine…pass it over to me. La Cage Aux Folles? Imagine that. Gotta keep shaking those tail feathers, build a cozy little nest and keep bringing home the worms, the berries, and birdseed while donning that JP peacock plumage. But a little vive la difference keeps it interesting.

My Name is Tommy T- I am a Saleaholic

salesmanI love sales. You can make anything but if you can’t sell it then it sits on a shelf. The market will not let you down. As Ed Fuller’s book title jumped off the shelf at the bookstore in Midway Airport and screamed volumes to me- You can’t lead with your feet on the desk. I add they need to hit the bricks.

Happy Birthday Dear Ayn!

Ayn RandWealth is the product of man’s capacity to think Ms Rand would say. Learning to think is the real education. Once a person has a sense of purpose and takes ownership of their life the sky’s the limit but we must also teach that there are winners and losers and as the man with the hat told Indy- “you may have lost today Kid but you don’t have to like it. “Keeping score is a necessity. Ayn says- “When I disagree with a rational man, I let reality be our final arbiter; if I am right, he will learn; if I am wrong, I will; one of us will win, but both will profit.” When people say it’s not about the money it is. As James Allen’s little book As A Man Thinketh taught me ‘they themselves are makers of themselves.” ****** I pulled out my 35th Anniversary edition today of Atlas Shrugged and held it in my hand and also pulled out my special edition of Thoreau’s Walden which also has the essay On the Duty of Civil Disobedience. I am a believer in fate even in regard to my lil library.

Merry Myths

A great moment for me was when Santa and I became one and the same. To say I don’t believe in Santa is to deny my own existence. As with most things it is not about the physical attributes or the magical powers but the spirit of the matter. I hope that my family continues to orally speak of both the Santa & Tommy myths to their children and grandchildren and that the invisible characters will spring to life with as much color as the lights on the tree. Merry Christmas all!

The Seed Remains

I was so happy to act in my one act play, “The Seed Remains” at Bongo Java in Nashville on December 7-8.

As I wrote, “Okay, at this point you can either imagine I’m walking through some time/space continuum or I went to sleep and had a dream—whatever helps you relate. Just remember that trees come and go, even the tallest oaks but in the end the seed remains.”
