Silence and Mr. Carpenter

As a boy I spent many hours in the woods alone. It is a joy to enjoy your own company and equal bliss to listen to the sights and sounds of nature the language of God. The passing of Scott Carpenter reminds me of the fascination of every boy in the early 1960’s with those wonderful astronauts who experienced the silence of space and the blessing of looking at our big blue green ball floating along in the sea of dark silence. Nothing is actually something and silence is actually the prevailing sound of the universe.
